Can Divorce Be Fun?

No, silly, I’m not getting divorced!

It used to be that when your friend got a divorce you would try and do damage control, but more and more women are deciding that this is the perfect time to throw a real rager.  Divorce parties have become so popular that there are party guides that cover everything from who should be on the guest list to suggested activities. (Drinking seems like the only necessary activity to me.)

Until recently, the one thing missing from a divorce soiree was a song to sing while the divorce cake was being cut. (Always good to have a knife available when severing ties with an unfortunate gentleman.) In response to this small challenge, women’s advice site, LuvemOrLeavem.com asked songwriter Carrie Johnson to create one - "You’re Free," – kind of like the good ol’ Happy Birthday number.

To celebrate the unveiling of the Divorce Party Song, LuvemOrLeavem.com has launched its "Already Left’em" video contest where women submit videos of themselves alone or in groups singing the song. Kind of like a refreshing take on chick karaoke. Get your submissions in by 12/15 at noon. Have fun!.

(Complete contest info and fun prize stuff is available at www.LuvemOrLeavem.com)

I'm Sleeping In...

…my snowsuit. First it’s 100 degrees in L.A. Then it’s like 50. Yesterday was about 80 but then it gets cold at night. So, evidently since my husband feels that we are back on food stamps, he won’t turn the heat on. He says it’s so nice to sleep in a chilly room. REALLLLLLLLLY because all summer when I frickin’ was desperate for a cool evening breeze (ie - lots of a/c), he said he doesn’t like to sleep in the cold. I guess how he really likes to sleep is F-R-E-E.

Readers, please send me a solar powered electric blanket. Otherwise my p.c. neighbors will yell at me.

Oh yeah, can you all please be my friend on Facebook?  My friend Katharine told me to do it and I must say it is quite addicting. That being said, if I’m going to be on there, I want to have the most friends. So please, we’re back in kindergarden, be my friend? (You can also search for me on Facebook as Marley Majcher and on MySpace as The Party Goddess or Marley Majcher I think.)

P.S. Since I’m already whining I might as well push it. Would you please forward my blog to your friends and ask them to sign up? They can delete it every day but it really helps my Google rankings. They can also go to The Party Goddess website and click on "Subscribe" to get on our newsletter list. Thanks and I really appreciate it. I’m heading back to my igloo now. Toodles!

Melted By A Framesicle

Somehow Jessica Parker and I got on eachother’s radar screen and thank goodness we did. Jessica makes Framesicles? Hugh? Framesicles are brilliantly colored picture frames which contain mattes
that have been custom decorated by her (by herself!). It started out as a birthday
present she created for her sister, and the idea has grown as people have
requested custom frames for all different occasions. They are a great way to keep your memories frozen in style!

Jessica creates custom ones (the one she did for TPG is rock star fabulous!) and I personally love the fun picnic one featured above. If you haven’t checked out her store on Etsy, you have to. There are so many reasons to get a Framesicle: birthdays, new babies, a fun day at the
beach, a weekend camping, the holidays, etc. The photos don’t do them justice. They are just impossibly deeeeelicious!
